In May 2020, the TV reality show Gogglebox, in which people watch things on the tele and comment on them, returned to our screens in a celebrity format. It saw former football manager Harry Redknapp and his wife Sandra join the show, which already had Rylan Clark and his mum Linda as part of the cast. There was a distinct sense of déjà vu for some viewers, however, when it was felt that Sandra Redknapp looked an awful lot like Linda Clark. It led to many viewers wondering whether the pair were related, which would’ve thrown open all sorts of intrigue given Harry Redknapp’s famous son Jamie.
Who Are We Talking About?
If you don’t keep up with the world of celebrity then you’d be forgiven for having no real idea who it is that we’re talking about. It is especially tricky to be sure what’s going on in this case, given the fact that neither of the people we’re concerned with are celebrities in their own right, instead being related to other people. Here is a quick breakdown of the protagonists in question:
Sandra Redknapp
Harry Redknapp was a footballer for clubs such as West Ham United and AFC Bournemouth before turning his hand to management. He took charge of both of those clubs as well as the likes of Southampton, Portsmouth and Queens Park Rangers. He married Sandra Redknapp in 1967 and she shot into the consciousness of the public when Harry broke down in tears after being reunited with her when he won I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here in 2018. The three weeks that he was in the jungle is the longest that they had ever been apart. They later released a joint autobiography entitled When Harry Met Sandra.

Linda Clark
Rylan Clark became famous in 2012 when he was on the music contest X Factor, the series that was eventually won by James Arthur. A year later and he appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, working to force a career in the media. As part of that career, he would regularly get his mum Linda involved, such as speaking to her on the phone when recording his show on BBC Radio 2. So it was that Linda Clark was introduced to the world, appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox with him. Whilst it’s Rylan that is the most famous of the two, Linda has also become much loved due to their relationship.
Are They Related?
The big question, then, is whether or not the two are related. The answer is ‘no’, with the pair simply looking a little bit like each other thanks to their similar hairstyle and glamorous appearance. It means that there is no link between Rylan and Jamie Redknapp, for example, who is the son of Harry and Linda Redknapp and was a footballer in his own right. Nor is their a tangential link between Rylan and Frank Lampard, who is related to Jamie Redknapp thanks to the fact that his mum, Patricia Harris, was Sandra Redknapp’s twin sister before her death in 2008. Sandra had a sister, it just wasn’t Rylan’s mum.
To be fair they do look pretty similar.
